Abstract
The housing supply chain consists of three main components, housing financing, land acquisition, and housing construction. During the years following the imposed war, many government housing policies have been designed around these three components with the aim of providing housing to households, especially those in the lower income deciles. However, statistical evidence shows that the gap between the rich and the poor in the housing market has widened over the past 20 years. High-income deciles have been able to increase their share of home ownership and acquire new housing units, while low-income deciles are still forced to remain renters and spend a large part of their income paying rent. The aim of this study was to examine how housing bank facilities affect income inequality in Iranian provinces. For this purpose, the present study used quantile panel regressions as an appropriate method in the field of estimating income inequality models. The results of estimating the research model during the period 2011-2022 show that the facilities granted by the Housing Bank in all deciles had a positive and significant effect on income inequality in 31 provinces of Iran.
